In 2001, a team of 30 cyber security experts in Romania had a dream: to provide excellent protection in the rapidly growing, often dangerous new world of the internet. Today, more than 1,300 security experts on three continents work passionately to offer security solutions for more than 500 million users in 150 countries.
During our nearly 17 years of existence as a cyber-security company, we’ve kept a keen eye on emerging threats and trends. We’ve seen pranks turn into commercial attacks inflicting billions of dollars in losses as well as the rapid proliferation of state-sponsored attacks against rival nations and civil activists alike.
Today, more than ever, we stand our ground. Together with 30 other important players who have shaped technology throughout the years, we’re signing our pledge to fight cyberattacks and provide equal protection for customers worldwide.
Continuing the mission we started at the dawn of the millennium, Bitdefender renews its commitment to customers in four key areas: mounting strong defenses against cyberattacks, regardless of origin, target and motivation; zero involvement in offensive actions, capacity building and innovation, as well as stronger partnerships with civil society and industry partners.
As an initial signatory of this pledge, Bitdefender welcomes private entities in the tech industry to join our efforts in containing economic losses and data breaches. This Cybersecurity Tech Accord is a public commitment aimed at protecting and empowering civilians online and to improving the security, stability and resilience of cyberspace.
Our first meeting, to be held during the security-focused RSA Conference in San Francisco, will focus on capacity building and collective action. If you want to learn more about this partnership and full list of backing entities, please visit http://www.cybertechaccord.org.
